Deep Dive: Put UX Into Everything

User experience (UX) doesn't just apply to products. It applies to everything.

Let's use the workplace as an example.

When you want to execute a new idea, are you taking the time to write a memo to articulate your thoughts? Is it well-formatted and easy to read?

When you write a job description, is it enticing to the reader? Is it formatted well?

When you want someone to view a file, do they have access to it? Can they comment?

When your company hosts meetings, is there a clear agenda and purpose? Is there a built-in feedback mechanism to iterate on these meetings?

When you onboard a new employee, are the rules of engagement defined? Is the paperwork easy to find and complete? Are training materials well-organized and engaging? Is there a support system for questions? This is akin to the first-time experience with a new app or product.

Good UX in the workplace isn't about aesthetics. It's about removing friction, creating clear paths to goals, and fostering a positive experience that translates to better results.

Thoughtfulness goes a long way. If you can get your entire org to think about integrating great user experiences into everything that they do, your customers and employees will be happier.
