Deep Dive: The Future of Marketing

Hereā€™s where the future of marketing is going.

Just spoke at a 5,000 person event in Frankfurt, Germany called ā€˜This Is Marketingā€™.

My podcast cohost @neilpatel shared what weā€™re seeing at our respective agencies and with our own marketing.

Take notes:

  1. AI agents are the future

Hereā€™s an example of an agentic workflow to help with finding internal links for SEO.

We also built a consolidation agent that helps combine content.

We are also building unique agents for clients at @singlegrain.

  1. New media > Old media

Election day hadnā€™t yet started when we went live, but we were already talking about how people trust podcasts and X over traditional mainstream media.

A 3 hr conversations does a lot more to build trust vs rehearsed soundbites.

  1. Community will be a critical part of SEO going forward

Reddit gained 700M monthly SEO visitors and Quora also saw a big increase.

Why? Because human generated content is even more valuable in an genAI heavy world.

Use platforms like Skool and Circle.

  1. Acquire customers and then use community to get them to stay

Online communities wonā€™t only just drive SEO traffic, theyā€™ll serve as a retention mechanism.

People like being a part of something bigger than themselves.

  1. Google is alive and well

Traffic has been continually increasing for Google Search. It ainā€™t dead yet.

That being said, LLM usage is continuing to skyrocket so their model is very much at risk for losing significant market share.

  1. We are all developers now

With the advent of Bolt.new, Replit, v0, and more, non technical people like me can throw up a frontend with a few prompts and have 60-70% of a product built.

A developer can finish off the rest.

  1. In person communities arenā€™t going anywhere

To see a few thousand people in the crowd and feel the energyā€¦ thatā€™s something that cannot be replicated.

Human connection is what makes us special and that canā€™t be easily reproduced by machines.
