How to Build a Billion-Dollar Network

Even If You Don't Like Networking

👾Leveling Up 👾

Here's how to build a network worth BILLIONS. 😉

I sat down with my good friend Syed Balkhi, who owns a bunch of WordPress companies, during one of our annual mastermind retreats.

Here's what we touched on:

1. We prefer small masterminds as opposed to large ones 🤝

Both Syed and I have been to large masterminds where we pay tens of thousands a year to network with 150-200 people.

We've learned over the years that quality FAR outweighs quantity.

Our group meets once a year and no one makes a profit. We just pick a cool spot to go to (like Bodrum, Turkey) and share our struggles and wins.

Just find people around your level or a few steps ahead of you and you can put together your own group.

FWIW, when I was in my mid-20s, I would get together groups of marketing leaders because that's the level I was at. As I leveled up in my career, I would gather entrepreneurs.

Just start somewhere.

2. Start following people you admire

Syed started following investor Mohnish Pabrai (author of 'The Dhandho Investor') and as Syed's success grew, he eventually met and became friends with Mohnish. They're now in a mastermind group together (YPO).

3. You need different masterminds for different situations

For example, our group is always trying new things with marketing and business. There's always something cool.

My YPO forum helps us think about life in general (kids, spouse, health, etc.)

4. Just put one foot in front of the other every day

Eventually, you'll be able to meet the people that you follow because interesting people love hanging out with other interesting people.

It all compounds over time, so just keep going!
