How I built a $1B network from scratch
It's about building relationships, not networking.
I get asked all the time, “How do you know all these people?”
A couple of weeks ago, I hosted a private marketing event with some of the best speakers in the world—all people I personally know. The follow-up question: “How did you get those speakers?”
The truth is simple: I started small and compounded my network over 15+ years.
It began with casual marketing dinners. No fancy setups, just a group of marketing professionals who were on the same journey. That real, honest exchange created strong connections.
From there, I expanded to happy hours, live events, and intimate dinners. The format didn’t matter. What mattered was consistently bringing people together in a way that made them feel like they belonged.
Here’s the key: wherever I go, I make it a point to be the connector. People remember the connector. Business is built on relationships, and everyone wants to hang out with like-minded people.
Keep this in mind:
Start small—it’s not about the size, but the quality of connections.
Create intimate spaces where people can be authentic.
Be intentional about bringing the right people together.
Don’t create expectations. Create relationships with people you vibe with.
Hire people who also have powerful networks.
Over time, this compounds into a powerful, trusted network.
When you put in the work to connect people consistently, your network becomes your biggest asset. And suddenly, people will be asking you, “How did you get so many incredible connections?”
To making connections that count,
