Deep Dive: How Online Communities Are Making $500k/Month
Communities are heavily underrated – some of these online groups are doing >$500k per month.
I invested a small check into a community platform called Skool a few years ago and I took a look at some of their top communities.
One community has 300 people and it charges $999/mo to teach French speakers how to make money online ($300k/mo).
Another group has around 2,000 people paying $129/mo teaching young men how to date ($258k/mo).
Communities are a nice retention mechanism, especially in a world that's going increasingly remote.
If you can do it well, it'll keep your customers around longer and increase word of mouth.
I started a community for agency owners called the 'Agency Owner's Association' alongside my podcast co-host Neil and so far, it's been going well (link below).
Some of the benefits:
Group Q+As
Guest speakers
Forum to ask whatever questions you have
Lead exchanges
As we continue to improve the offering, we'll continue to increase the price.
We have an amazing community manager who runs the show and I'm staying active to drive as much engagement as possible.
Whatever platform you choose to use, I think you'll find creating your own community will be a boon to your business. Just make sure you put your full effort into it.
