All My 9-Figure Friends Have This In Common
This Unlocks Everything
👾Leveling Up 👾
All my 9-figure+ revenue friends have ONE simple thing in common.
In my 20s and early 30s, I thought it was SO overrated. I'd read about it in books. I'd hear it from more seasoned entrepreneurs.
I'd ignore all the wisdom and start different types of businesses, invest in others, and constantly seek the latest trends. It almost took everything away.
So what is that ONE thing? Focus.
If you survive long enough in business, you'll live to tell the tale of when you finally learned the power of focus. Usually, it comes from you getting punched in the face and dragged around the ground.
I had a chat with Alex Hormozi and got him to share some of his experiences:
1. Not focusing means you have to become the CEO of multiple companies
In essence, you're buying multiple jobs and splitting your attention in multiple ways. That's a good way for everything to tank.
2. You can work in the business, on the business, or above the business
Being 'above' the business means you are no longer on the org chart. You might be playing free safety and jumping around with fires but you don't have any direct reports at any of the businesses.
3. Private equity/holding companies are still just ONE thing
If you look at the wealthiest people in the world, almost all of them got there from manically focusing on one thing for 20-30+ years. Jeff Bezos comes to mind here.
4. Trying to run multiple businesses = 24/7 stress
Everything feels out of control (because it is) and you feel like you're always just about to lose it all (because you are). It just feels saner on all levels to be locked in on one thing and to apply all your effort towards it.
Just think about it - how can you possibly beat someone else that is just as smart as you working on one thing all the time versus you, who has 12 different companies?
