6 Secrets to a $100M Business
Bootstrapped founder spills the beans

Had dinner with a client that does $100m in revenue. Bootstrapped.
Six key takeaways:
1. The secret to a good marriage of 30+ years = space. Have your own interests and don’t feel the need to be together all the time. But when you are together, do cool things, like travel often.
2. The secret to building a generational business is to focus on one thing and do it for a long time. He has been locked in on one main business for 30 years. Btw he came from nothing.
3. Invest in your health. He works with a popular doctor who charges $250k a year and he has a VO2 max of 52 at his age which is top 2%. Fwiw you don’t need to invest $250k - there’s plenty of knowledge out there for free. Follow Andrew Huberman or Peter Attia.
4. Anybody that brags about having multiple businesses doesn’t really have a big business. We have both seen this in YPO and it’s a red flag to any experienced operator.
5. He lets his kids carve out their own path. He tries to guide them where he can, but his ultimate responsibility as a father is to keep his kids safe. All 3 of his kids are incredibly humble.
6. He’s yet another example of someone that doesn’t believe remote work is the way to go. Every founder I have met with these past few years believes that remote has been a net negative for their business.
